Everyone is rat
Squeaklands is a free browser based multiplayer MMO where every player is a cartoon rat. Explore a world and talk to characters all drawn in MS Paint, gather cheese and useful items, fight strange enemies, meet and befriend other rats, level your stats as you please, and build an outfit that is unmistakably yours.
Originally created as a silly side project to learn more about server hosting and networking, but grew into something much bigger and serves as a strange historical piece for how I slowly got better at drawing with a mouse. (I know, how dare I).
Explore together
Travel through connected hand-drawn scenes, discover characters and quests, and see other players moving through the same world.
Fight as a party
Enter tactical battles alone or with other rats, learn new moves, equip augments, and take on enemies and bosses.
Collect and trade
Pick up cheese, resources, quest items, cosmetics, and equipment. Keep what suits your rat or trade with another player.
Look ridiculous
Customise your rat with fur colours and hand-drawn outfits. Looking heroic is optional; looking like rat is not.
